Open science commitments

Studies using open practices are trusted more, and open materials help more people learn. Here is what this site promises.

  1. Show the sources. Every claim is referenced; every chart says where its numbers come from.
  2. Label uncertainty. Established, strong, emerging, hypothesis or debated: you always know how sure I am.
  3. Share freely. Text, illustrations and 3D models are CC BY 4.0, ready for classrooms and newsrooms.
  4. Reproducible visuals. 3D models and charts are generated by open scripts from public data (PDB, FlyBase, PubMed), with checksums and retrieval dates.
  5. Respect the work of others. No unpublished or lab data, ever; original data creators are credited.
  6. Correct openly. Mistakes are fixed with a visible note and a new version number.
  7. Private by design. No trackers or cookies; nothing about visitors is sold. Only the AlphaFold explorer contacts outside databases, and only when you use it.
